PENANG: Voters will be kings for a day when they cast their votes on March 8. Blogger-politician Jeff Ooi urged Malaysians to take responsibility for their future on polling day. "We are revolting against price hikes but we are doing it peacefully with votes. "The DAP is urging voters to come out on polling day. Please make the correct decision and be heard because you are only king for one day," he said during a talk along Jalan Masjid Kapitan Keling on Friday night. An ex-Gerakan member, Ooi criticised his former party for not practising what it preached. "Like Gerakan, DAP is also a party for all Malaysians, not just one particular race. But the difference between the DAP and Gerakan is that we actually practise what we preach. "Gerakan claims to be for Malaysians but how many Indian or Malay candidates did they field? Zero. We have Karpal Singh (Bukit Gelugor), R.S.N. Rayer (Sri Delima), Dr P. Ramasamy (Batu Kawan), Jagdeep Singh Deo (Datok Keramat) and M. Kula Segaran (Ipoh Barat)," he said. --THE STAR
