KLANG, March 2 (Bernama) -- Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) advisor Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has admitted that the opposition parties had been given more leeway to campaign for the general election on March 8.
He said "ceramahs" (political rallies) by them were not hindered by the police this time.
He claimed that this was due to the greater attention the foreign media was paying to the political situation in the country ahead of the election.
Anwar told this to reporters after making a visit to PKR's operations room in Jalan Kebun here Sunday.
Asked about his party's chances in the election, he said that he expected PKR to turn in a much better performance this time around.
In the 2004 election, PKR only managed to win a single parliamentary seat, that of his home constituency of Permatang Pauh in Penang, which was won by his wife Datin Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.
