Khairy hits back at nepotism accusers

RANTAU PANJANG: Umno Youth deputy chief Khairy Jamaluddin has hit out at the Opposition, saying that they also fielded the children of their leaders as candidates.

Dismissing attacks claiming that the Prime Minister was practising nepotism by fielding him as a candidate, Khairy said: "Look at the Opposition, they have their sons and daughters also contesting. We see it in DAP and PKR."

The polls on Saturday will, among others, see DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang’s son Guan Eng contesting in Penang.

PKR adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, meanwhile, has his wife Wan Azizah Wan Ismail contesting in Permatang Pauh (Penang) and daughter Nurul Izzah standing in Lembah Pantai. Both are parliamentary seats.

Khairy, who is contesting the Rembau parliamentary seat, was speaking to reporters after meeting the Rantau Panjang Umno election machinery members here.
