Anwar dismisses Chandra's critique as 'smear tactics'

Parti Keadilan Rakyat adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has criticised Umno leaders who exploit people without integrity and weak to attack him.

Anwar was responding to former PKR deputy president Dr Chandra Muzaffar’s remark that if Anwar becomes the Prime Minister it will be an “unmitigated disaster for Malaysia.”

"Umno and BN would use all tactics to smear my name, especially in the next few days before polling day,” he said in his ceramah at Titi Gantung Pas election operations room here today. "Do not be surprised…in another two or three days CDs would appear linking me as agents to China, India and other agents including Jewish.”

Anwar, however, declined to meet reporters after the event as he had to attend eight other functions.

In his speech, Anwar claimed that cheating on polling day began with the postal voting which started on Monday. "BN was forced to resort to such tactics as they feared the coalition would not win if the election process is conducted fairly.
