KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA: Batu parliamentary PKR candidate Tian Chua said his invitation to a debate with his opponent Lim Si Pin is voters the differences between their political ideas. The voters could then have a better understanding of the candidates. He said in a statement that Lim obviously does not understand this and has rejected the offer. Tian Chua said he regrets the refusal and was also confused by with Lim's response. Tian Chua added Lim does is not aware of the duties of a member of parliament. “An MPs' job is not only to resolve the problems of the people's livelihood. They should also pay attention to the enactment of laws and debate on the national policies. Furthermore, they supervise over the government's administrative work. Lim does not link the national issues together with the local issues, and it clearly shows that he is only thinking within a small scope.” Chua said it was obvious Lim has never served the people seriously as he still needs to be introduced to the voters by the party former president and the incumbent MP.
