New Chinese school for Bukit Tinggi, Klang

KLANG, TUES:

The Chinese residents in the vicinity of Bukit Tinggi will be able to send their children to Chinese-medium school when the Sekolah Rendah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina (SRJK) Wu Teck in Bandar Baru Parkland, here is ready next year.

Datuk Ch’ng Toh Eng, who is also Selangor State Multimedia, Environment and New Village Development Committee chairman, said SRJK Wu Teck was originally located in Bagan Air Tengah, Port Klang, and has only 50 students.

“However, in 2006, the school’s management board applied to the State Education Department to relocate to the 1.4-hectare site donated by Bandar Parkland developer, WCT Land Bhd,” he said at the ground-breaking ceremony for the school here today.

Ch’ng said the relocation of the school would enable it to progress further in line with the housing development in the area.

“In addition to Bandar Baru Parkland, there are also the Kota Bayu Emas and Bandar Puteri projects which will require the building of a new Chinese school,” he said.
He said the building of the school, which would be able to accommodate over 1,000 students, would start after the building plan was approved by the Klang Municipal Council.

“The school, which will start to accept students in 2010, will cost RM5 million,” he said.

Why there isn't such activities or events happen consistently. It only happen before the general election. What a gimmick.
