KOH: Transition of CM will not effect foreign investments

PENANG, TUES:Foreign direct investments (FDIs) to Penang will not be affected by the transition of the chief ministership, outgoing chief minister Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon said today.
“I don’t forsee a major dislocation or disruption in the flow of FDIs to Penang,” he said when asked about the impact on FDIs due to the transition.
He was speaking to reporters after the announcement of Motorola Inc’s RM350 million investment in Penang via Motorola Technology Sdn Bhd.
Later, Koh addressed about 1,700 Motorola staff and praised them for their hard work, encouraging them to continue their commitment.
Penang is set for a new chief minister as Koh, who is contesting for the Batu Kawan parliament seat, will be moving to a federal post.
He is facing DAP’s Professor P. Ramasamy, a former university lecture.
