Independent Candidate For Datok Keramat Withdraws PENANG, Feb 26 (Bernama) -- The independent candidate for the Datok Keramat state seat withdrew from contest in the March 8 general election, leaving the tussle for the constituency to the Barisan Nasional (BN) and the DAP.
Shahul Hameed MK Mohamed Ishack, 47, told a news conference that he was pressured by his family to withdraw.
The contest for the seat will now be a straight fight between Ong Thean Lye of the BN and Jagdeep Singh Deo a/l Karpal Singh of the DAP.
